The Loose Cannons
Testimonials

Thank you for a fantastic performance at our 25th Wedding anniversary.

I have lost count of the number of people who said how much they enjoyed your music. They were still talking about you days later.

We (The Loose Cannons Band) would like to take this opportunity to thank the guests at the Young Farmers Summer Ball [20th June 2008].

The generator supplying power to the whole event failed 20+ times during the evening, mainly in our sets.

You guys support - singing, cheering, clapping, and good nature kept us going strong all night, especially in the quiet bits!

What a fantastic crowd you were!! We had so much fab feedback from the night - we are chuffed!!

Thank you soooo much!!

The Loose Cannons Band xx (22 June 2008)

We had an SPSA meeting last night and all the feedback was 'great' 'great' 'great'!! ... especially the 2nd set!

Everyone really enjoyed themselves [7th June 2008] and thought that when the guys came down onto the dance floor for the last song, was a really nice touch!

It was also commented that it was a good mix of music – older (as in our era!) classic, dancy stuff with some newer ones.

You may have also noticed that our 'theme' tunes went down rather well as well - very much appreciated, thank you!

Thank you all for a really great evening. We will keep you posted on our future events, we are sure to book you again!

Trudie Burne, on behalf of the SPSA and all the guests at BBB 08 (10 June 2008)

A great night [15 March 2008], with great music, that saw even the most unlikely people dancing like your dad!

Also, a big thank you to the band for being so accommodating when we were setting up to use the stage around them.

Ann Cousins, Events and Communications Placement Officer, EAUC (18 April 2008)

A fantastic night [9th February 2008], great music, the dance floor was packed with every generation - just like the band!

Just a quick note to thank you very much for playing at the Chudleigh Late Night Shopping event in December.

You were absolutely fantastic and certainly made the event something very special!

Thanks again.

Julie Bannister and all the members of Chudleigh Business Guild (04 January 2008)

... The food was good, the band even better and fantastic to see the young people of SYC having such a good time alongside the old farts. It was great ...

What a brilliant night- can we have the same band next year? They must have been very good because even Jon danced!!

Starcross Yacht Club (07 December 2007)

Just to say a huge thank you to you all for your fantastic performance at my 40th on Saturday [27 October 2007], you were all very professional from the setting up crew to the members of the band, and what a great singer your vocalist is, everybody at the party was very impressed with your performances and we hope you enjoyed the evening too.

Thanks again and we hope to make a venue down there so we hope Duvale Barn will see the Loose Cannons in action again!!!

Rachel & Russell White (01 October 2007)

On behalf of Debbie & Andy Twemlow and all the guests at their wedding reception, my wife Jayne and I would like to whole heartedly thank you for an absolutely fantastic evening of live entertainment. The whole presence of your band, the vocalists and players, both sets and your interaction with the audience was brilliant.

We can recommend The Loose Cannons as excellent entertainment value. May you have many, many more gigs.

Gavin & Jayne Newell (17 September 2007)

Myself and Zoë would just like to express our thanks to you all for playing at our wedding and providing a fantastic evenings entertainment to what was a perfect day. We all thought that your performance was second to none and did a great job of managing to coax everyone onto the dance floor and provide such a wide range of music which kept everyone happy and was really the icing on the cake for us.

We have had numerous positive remarks regarding the band. A number of seasoned musicians who were undertaking a 'critical analysis' (probably too much to drink) of you also echoed similar remarks. One of our favourite parts was in 'Walking on Sunshine' when the brass section detached themselves from the band and undertook a reconnaissance mission of the surrounding areas and ensuring those at the bar in the attached room could hear what they were missing!

The whole band had a excellent sound, obviously being mixed very professionally by the sound engineer. The brass section was outstanding and so were the two girl's voices, which added so much to the overall sound. A big thank you also to the chaps who kindly set up early in the afternoon and witnessed the Leaning Tower of Cake fall over! and to the rest of the band in the evening for being flexible with the timings.

We would definitely recommend you to any of our friends for functions in the future so hope to see you again sometime.

Andy and Zoë Burns (20 August 2007)

WOW - Just wanted to thank you and the rest of the band for last night [27th July]. It was absolutely superb and really made the whole day go with a bang. We were amazed with just how good everything was from the lighting, sound and of course the terrific music. We have had so many people comment on you and I think that you could tell by the packed dance floor that you went down a storm. Please feel free to quote me on the website and give my contact details to any prospective clients.

On another note thank you for superb communication throughout and your continued patience as I flustered along.

Thank you once again

Mr and Mrs Mussett (28 July 2007)

Just a little email to say thank you so much for playing at our wedding [30th June], Pete and I had a fabulous time and we thought you sounded amazing! A lot of people have written and told us how good they thought you were and my parents were just so pleased - they do love a brass section in bands!

Despite the rain we had a fabulous day and I hope that having to be pulled out of the mud didn't dampen your spirits at all. I would definitely recommend you to anyone that asks!!

Helen Broom (10 July 2007)

Just to say thank you again for Saturday [16th June] - it was such a lovely evening and everyone was saying how fantastic the band were. You all really made the night so thank you, thank you!

Please pass that message onto all the band, they were brilliant!

Juliet Stubbington (18 June 2007)

What a great night you gave us, thank you. Everyone had a wonderful time and thought you were all fantastic.

We haven't finished counting, but think we have raised over £850 for Hospiscare.

Thank you so much for your bands generosity, donating the £100 and bringing along so many friends to buy tickets.

Thanks to you all.

P.S. quote for your website!!

Where did you find the band, they're the next 'Joey the Lips'!

Philippa Greenslade (13 May 2007)

Outstanding night. Two new singers added to the mix has only improved the Loose Cannons.

We had them for the Uni's "Spring Social" and it was a superb evening - a few brave dancers got up from the word go - soon enough and sure enough the whole place was bopping. 2nd set (perhaps something to do with beer having loosened people's limbs) was especially good.

Really good variety of music.

Highly recommended for top notch entertainment.

Patrick Kennedy, University Of Exeter (26 April 2007)

Wow! What a night, absolutely fantastic, words cannot do them justice you have to be there to listen and to feel their music. The Loose Cannons really excelled themselves and brought the party alive, and Debbie the singer, what a voice, interacted with the audience all night. Their selection of songs got everyone up dancing; in fact, I could have danced all night. The friends, I've seen since who attended, have all remarked how brilliant the band and Debbie were, very professional, fun, exciting, just FAB. Thank you for such a wonderful birthday party.

Patrice Godfrey (24 April 2007)

Thank you from the RNLI

'Play that funky music'. You certainly did. What a night we all had. It was Trafalgar Day, and what could be more appropriate than to dedicate the evening to the RNLI. The people of Chudleigh, some young and some not so young, came out in droves to show their support. The band was The Loose Cannons Band and Chudleigh Town Hall was full to capacity to hear them. The people danced and sang and cheered to the bands large and varied repertoire of fantastic music and songs. It was a brilliant night, the music was great, everybody had a marvellous time and their generosity was tremendous.

The Teignmouth RNLI would like to thank you all. You raised the sum of £461 to help us to continue to save lives at sea.

Thank you

Roger Hawkins, volunteer Publicity Officer, Teignmouth & District RNLI Lifeboat Guild. (21 October 2006)

A great BIG thank you to the band for making our wedding reception Brilliant! We had the most amazing day & what a way to finish it off!

It has also been great to hear that the guests enjoyed the night as much as us!

Thankyou also for performing the two songs we asked for so well; 'Better together' was perfect! And what a song to finish with 'Everybody' got everybody up dancing!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

You were fab.

Gemma & Rob xx (12 August 2006)

The 'Loose Cannons' played for our 40th birthday party in July and we are still living on our memories of this superb event. We had 120 friends coming to Devon from all over the country, some of whom we hadn't seen for years, so the music HAD to be good. Actually, it was ABSOLUTELY TOP!! I don't think there was a single person who didn't get up and boogie, and during the second set it was difficult to find space on the floor. We are still getting people contacting us to say how impressed they were with the band and how did we manage to find such a great one?

The icing on the cake had to be 'Everybody Needs Somebody' from the Blues Brothers, at the end. It was impossible to sit down by this stage.

The band were also really professional in their approach, from the set-up and sound manager, to the top-class musicianship.

Thanks SO MUCH guys. To any prospective clients: Grab this band NOW before they get too famous (and busy!) to do your gig. Top quality, top people, top tunes.

Sharon Lord (28 July 2006)

THANK YOU AND EXCELLENT!!!

Sums it up really. The Loose Cannons performed at our graduation ball. Despite the large range of people there, from all walks of life I think everybody got up to dance at least once (take it from me, that's one hell of an achievement!!)

The Loose Cannons are an excellent band, who provide a good and varied range of songs to dance to and sing your lungs out to.

Not only are they absolutely fantastic singers and players, their communication and organisational skills are spot on, which made organising the night a lot easier for me.

I really recommend these guys to any of you, for any occasion where you want a good old knees up.

Thank you to the Loose Cannons from me and the rest of my year for a fantastic night.

Anna Cranshaw, Student Union, University of Plymouth, Millbrook House. (04 June 2006)

I write in my capacity as the promoter of 'Villages in action' events in Chudleigh, of which I have quite a few years experience.

I'd like to recommend 'Loose Cannons' to you as a band who can lift your spirits, make you feel good, make you want to dance to them, sing to them (well, with them!). They have a varied repertoire of well known songs which they perform with gusto and talent. I personally have spent a great evening in their musical company, and would be happy for others to have that opportunity.
